Britons as social networking champions

As referred to many times on my "other" blog, I am a bit obsessed with Facebook. Now I know it's just due to cultural disposition...

Britain's '11 minutes a day' Facebook habit

Recently I also mentioned the not particularly impressive state of wireless networking in the UK. What I also didn't mention was that the concept of being able to scam off someone's wireless for free just doesn't exist. Any wirelessaccess is England is firmly shut behind passwords and encryptions and a whole host of barriers and secrecy. Thus even if there is wireless in your immediate vicinity the chances of you connecting to it are rather limited. So I was interested to read this article from the (London) Times today. Britons are naturally cagey and protective, not wont to sharing information let alone personal information and the idea of laying oneself open to someone nicking personal information through an unprotected wireless network seems, well, just stupid.
